Muhamad Erwin is born at Pagar Alam on August 31, 1976. He completed higher education at Sriwijaya University, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in law, master’s degree in Humanities, and a doctorate in Law. Muhamad Erwin was honored with the prestigious National Distinguished Lecturer Award in 2010 by the Ministry of National Education Republic of Indonesia. Throughout his tenure as an academician, he has authored several nationally published books, including: “Filsafat Hukum” (Philosophy of Law), and “Hak atas Ruang Hidup Masyarakat Adat” (Rights of Indigenous Communities to Living Space), both published by PT RajaGrafindo Persada; “Pengantar Ilmu Hukum” (Introduction to Law), “Hukum Lingkungan” (Environmental Law), and “Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan” (Civic Education) published by PT Refika Aditama; “Hukum Ruang Hidup Adat: Taman Nasional Adat sebagai Gagasan Kawasan Konservasi Baru” (Customary Living Space Law: Customary National Parks as a Concept of New Conservation Areas) published by Genta Publishing.
Furthermore, Muhamad Erwin is a registered member of the Indonesian Association of Philosophy of Law (Asosiasi Filsafat Hukum Indonesia). Muhamad Erwin has also taken on the roles as Producer and Director in the documentary film “Orang Rimba: The Life of Suku Anak Dalam,” which was released on National Film Day, March 30, 2020. From 2016 to 2023, Muhamad Erwin served as Directors’ Expert Staff of Legal and Institutional at State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya (Staf Ahli Direktur Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya Bidang Hukum dan Kelembagaan). Starting in 2022, He has been actively involved as an expert in regulatory development at the Directorate General of Vocational Education (Direktorat Jendral Pendidikan Vokasi) under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Republic of Indonesia (Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia).
